  • The bolt struck the Black Knight Bowbenders range in Jackson Township just after 7 p.m. Wednesday while the area was under a severe thunderstorm warning.
  • First responders performed CPR on 61-year-old instructor Robert Montgomery, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
  • Fourteen participants, including children as young as seven, suffered burns and other ailments and remain under treatment at area hospitals.
  • Emergency crews from multiple townships, paramedics from RWJBarnabas Health and Atlantic Health Systems, and several fire departments converged on the scene within minutes.
