Overview
- A light aircraft nosedived into a field near Whitehouse Road in Stebbing shortly before 1:30pm Monday.
- Essex County Fire and Rescue crews joined police, the ambulance service, the Air Ambulance Service and the Hazardous Area Response Team in coordinating the rescue.
- Station Manager Scott Fretton said firefighters used an off-road vehicle to dampen surrounding grass to eliminate ignition risk.
- The adult male pilot was transported by road to Broomfield Hospital with minor injuries.
- The crash site has been declared safe and authorities are reviewing the circumstances of the incident.
