Overview
- The FPF stages the season-opening ceremony on Friday at 7:00 p.m. local time (00:00 GMT), pairing the draw with the 2025 awards gala.
- Eighteen clubs are confirmed for 2026, including Universitario, Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal, FBC Melgar, Cienciano, Cusco FC and Sport Boys.
- The competition retains the Apertura and Clausura short tournaments, each a single round-robin of 18 dates, followed by Play-Offs under established qualification rules.
- Winners of each short tournament reach Play-Offs only if they finish in the top eight of the aggregate table, with a double-tournament winner crowned champion and the bottom two relegated to Liga2 2027.
