Overview
- A lifeboat and an empty container from the Singapore-flagged MV Wan Hai503 washed ashore at Paravur in Alappuzha district on the night of June 15 and were secured by local authorities.
- The cargo ship caught fire on June 9 after a container explosion off the Kannur coast and is now being towed about 45 nautical miles offshore.
- Salvage crews appointed by the ship’s owner have begun removing drifted debris and customs officials have been notified to process the recovered items.
