Overview

• The half marathon began at 7:00 a.m. from Jackson Park’s East Hayes Drive, the 5K started at 7:45 a.m., and the Kids Run was set for 10:00 a.m.
• Runners headed north before turning back south on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, passing Kenwood and Hyde Park and finishing near the Statue of The Republic in Jackson Park.
• Thousands took part in the 28th annual races, and organizers said entrants represented all 50 states and 41 countries.
• Sections of DuSable Lake Shore Drive and parts of Hayes and Richards Drives were closed for the morning, with a Finish Festival scheduled for noon in Jackson Park.
• Spectators were encouraged to watch from East 47th Street, East Oakwood Boulevard, East 31st Street, and S. Richards Drive near The Golden Lady, with local outlets providing live updates and runner tracking.
