Lien Filed Against Kanye West's Malibu Home Amid Unpaid Wages Dispute

Contractor Tony Saxon's lawyer claims over $1 million in unpaid wages, potentially forcing the sale of the $53 million property.

  • Kanye West's Malibu home, listed for sale at $53 million, has a lien filed against it by contractor Tony Saxon's lawyer, Ron Zambrano, who claims West owes Saxon over $1 million in unpaid wages.
  • Saxon, who worked as a contractor and live-in caretaker for West's home, filed a lawsuit against West in September 2023 accusing him of disability discrimination, multiple labor code violations, unpaid wages and wrongful termination.
  • The lien could potentially force the sale of the property if West does not pay the owed wages.
  • The house, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Tadao Ando, lacks doors, windows, plumbing, architectural finishes or an HVAC system and is not wired for electricity.
  • Jason Oppenheim, who is listing the house, estimates that the new owner would need to spend several million dollars to complete the interior of the home.
