Lidl Urges Return of Tempura Chicken Steaks in Allergy Recall

Overview

  • The recall affects 380g packs of Red Hen 4 Tempura Chicken Steaks with best-before dates of 11/12/2026, 16/12/2026, 22/12/2026, 30/12/2026 and 16/01/2027 because milk was not emphasised in bold on the ingredient label.
  • The Food Standards Agency issued an official Allergy Alert and advised Lidl to notify relevant allergy support organisations and display point-of-sale notices in stores.
  • Customers with a milk allergy or intolerance are advised not to eat the product and to return affected packs to any Lidl store for a full refund.
  • Lidl confirms no other Red Hen products are impacted and says it is working closely with the FSA and Anaphylaxis UK to manage the recall.
  • The supermarket is also recalling Harvest Basket Smiley Teddy Bear snacks due to mineral oil contamination detected during production.
