Overview
- The supplier Fude + Serrahn announced a public recall after routine testing found Bacillus cereus in Milbona High Protein Pudding Schoko (200 g), and Lidl has removed the affected items from sale.
- The recall covers only the batch marked with the best-before date 12.09.2026 and applies to products sold nationwide at Lidl in Germany and reported also by Lidl Austria.
- Customers can return the specific pudding to any Lidl store for a full refund without a receipt and may call the Lidl customer hotline for questions.
- Health authorities warn that Bacillus cereus can produce two toxins that cause rapid vomiting or delayed watery diarrhoea, and the supplier cautions that infants, small children, pregnant people, the elderly and immunocompromised individuals face higher risk of severe illness.
- The supplier apologised for the inconvenience, officials advised anyone who ate the product and develops symptoms to seek medical advice, and coverage notes this detection follows other isolated Bacillus cereus incidents earlier in the year.
