• Libyan outlets Almasdar and 17 PRESS, the NGO Refugees in Libya, and journalist Khalil Elhassi posted footage they say shows Osama Njeem Almasri attacking a man in Tripoli.
• Independent reporting cautions that the attacker’s identity, the timing and location of the clip, and whether the victim died have not been verified.
• Palazzo Chigi ordered checks, and Corriere reports that contacts with the Rada militia indicate the video is authentic but older, possibly from 2021–2022, with Almasri said to have recognized himself and claimed he was disarming an armed driver and that there was no fatality.
