Li Auto Unveils First Full-Electric MPV, Targets Wealthy Consumers

The Beijing-based EV maker's new model, the Li Mega, will be equipped with fast-charging batteries and is set to begin production in February 2024.

Li Auto, a leading Chinese EV maker, has unveiled its first multipurpose vehicle (MPV), the Li Mega, targeting wealthy consumers seeking larger family cars.
The MPV, priced below 600,000 yuan (US$82,819), will be the first full-electric model by the Beijing-based carmaker, with production set to start in February 2024.
The Mega will be equipped with Qilin fast-charging batteries made by CATL, the world's largest EV battery producer, offering a 500-kilometre driving range on a 12-minute electric charge.
The MPV will be the first model to be assembled at Li Auto's new Beijing plant, which has an annual capacity of 100,000 units.
Li Auto broke its own monthly sales record for the seventh consecutive month in October, delivering 40,422 vehicles, a 12.1 per cent increase compared with September.
