LG Opens First U.S. EV Charger Factory in Texas

The new facility, capable of producing over 10,000 chargers annually, aligns with LG's strategic focus on 'electrification' and the U.S. government's EV infrastructure goals.

  • LG Electronics has opened its first electric vehicle (EV) charger factory in Texas, marking its first such facility outside of South Korea.
  • The new factory, located in Fort Worth, spans 59,202 square feet and has the capacity to produce more than 10,000 chargers per year.
  • Production of 11kW chargers has already begun, with plans to start assembling 175kW fast chargers in the first half of 2024 and 350kW ultra-fast chargers by the end of the year.
  • The move aligns with LG's strategic focus on 'electrification' and its goal to reach $79 billion in sales by 2030.
  • LG's expansion into the U.S. EV market is also in line with the U.S. government's goal to have at least 500,000 public EV chargers by 2030.
