LG Launches UltraGear Evo Monitors Featuring On-Device 5K AI Upscaling

LG will demo the lineup at CES 2026, with pricing and availability still to come.

Overview

  • The new UltraGear evo brand debuts with three flagships: the 39GX950B (39-inch OLED), 27GM950B (27-inch MiniLED) and 52G930B (52-inch large-format 5K2K).
  • LG says its on-device 5K AI Upscaling, plus AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound, runs on the 39-inch and 27-inch models to deliver 5K‑class clarity without adding GPU load.
  • The 39GX950B is a 5K2K Tandem OLED ultrawide with Dual Mode for 165Hz at native resolution or 330Hz at WFHD, and an advertised 0.03ms response time.
  • The 27GM950B is billed as the first 5K New MiniLED gaming monitor with 2,304 local dimming zones, Zero Optical Distance engineering, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and up to 1,250 nits peak brightness.
  • The 52G930B is presented as the largest 5K2K gaming monitor, offering a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1000R curve and a 12:9 panoramic aspect ratio; LG plans CES showcase zones including a Reddit-inspired setup and a SimCraft racing demo.
