Overview
- Neil Reid, 43, pleaded guilty to two rapes, two attempted robberies, kidnap, intent to commit a sexual offence, and threatening with a blade.
- The attack began on April 16 when he entered a woman’s car at knifepoint in Leyland, forced her to drive, and raped her in Lostock Hall, including on Sephton Street and a nearby grassed area.
- After the assault, he took her car to Preston, broke into his ex-partner’s father’s flat demanding keys, fled, and was arrested around 3am near his home.
- Judge Robert Altham rejected Reid’s attempt to blame heavy crack cocaine use, stating he bore full responsibility and posed a significant risk.
- The court imposed indefinite restraining orders for three victims and lifelong sex-offender registration, with the eight-year extended licence described as the most stringent supervision available.
