Lexus Retires LS Flagship, Unveils 2026 Heritage Edition Farewell

The farewell model reflects Lexus's pivot to SUVs in a market moving away from big sedans.

Overview

  • Lexus confirmed the end of the LS in its current form, with a final 2026 LS 500 Heritage Edition limited to 250 units for the U.S.
  • Priced at $99,280 including destination, the Heritage Edition arrives in U.S. showrooms in fall 2025 and will be the only LS offered for 2026.
  • The send-off specification features an exclusive Ninety Noir exterior, a Rioja Red interior, unique heritage badging, 20-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, and a 23-speaker Mark Levinson system.
  • Power comes from a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic and AWD, producing about 416 hp and 442 lb-ft for a 0–60 mph time of roughly 4.6 seconds, with the LS 500h hybrid discontinued in the U.S.
  • U.S. LS sales fell to 691 in the first half of 2025, down 42.3% year over year, and Lexus has not confirmed a direct successor as it shifts emphasis to TNGA-K cars and body-on-frame SUVs.
