Lexus Launches 2026 RZ EV Nationwide in Canada with Major Tech Upgrades

The refreshed electric SUV features a larger battery, Tesla NACS fast-charging, advanced drive-by-wire controls to support Lexus Canada’s growth targets.

The platform, shape and size are similar to the previous version, but the battery is larger, the charging is faster, the range is longer and the technology is more advanced.

Overview

  • The 2026 RZ will be sold at every Lexus dealership in Canada, moving beyond its previous restriction to Quebec and British Columbia.
  • An upgraded 77 kWh battery boosts the entry-level RZ 350e’s range to an estimated 486 km, up from 354 km on the outgoing model.
  • Support for Tesla’s North American Charging System enables up to 150 kW DC fast-charging in about 28 minutes and 11 kW Level 2 home charging in seven hours.
  • All-new steer-by-wire steering with a rectangular yoke and an Interactive Manual Drive mode simulate eight-speed shifting for a more engaging drive.
  • Lexus Canada projects RZ sales will triple from last year’s 526 units as it rolls out three variants across five trim levels, including the 408 hp RZ 550e F Sport.
