Lexington Firefighters Kick Off 96th Annual Toy Program
Officials aim to reach about 3,000 children through donations with required parent registration.
Overview
- The Lexington Fire Department and the Fraternal Order of Firefighters launched the drive on Nov. 3, with Mayor Linda Gorton presenting the first gift.
 - Parent registration begins Monday, Nov. 10 at 2319 Woodhill Drive in Lexington, with Spanish-language registration on Nov. 11.
 - A Chuck Williams silent auction on Dec. 7 will help fund the effort ahead of the holiday distribution.
 - The giveaway is set for Dec. 20 at the Woodhill Drive site, where toys are organized by ages 0–12 so parents can choose suitable gifts.
 - Donations are accepted at all 24 city firehouses in blue bins, and organizers note the number of children served can fluctuate with local needs.
