Lexi Thompson Makes History as Seventh Woman to Compete in PGA Tour Event

Lexi Thompson will play in the PGA Tour's Shriners Children's Open in Las Vegas starting October 12.
She received a sponsor's exemption to compete against 131 men for the tournament's $8.4 million purse.
Thompson hopes her participation will inspire young women to pursue their dreams in professional golf.
The last woman to play in a PGA Tour event was Brittany Lincicome in 2018.
Only one woman, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, has made the 36-hole cut at a PGA Tour event.
