Lewis Hamilton Announces Death of Bulldog Roscoe After Ending Life Support

Hamilton says the 12-year-old companion could not recover despite four days on life support.

Overview

  • The Ferrari driver said he chose to withdraw treatment after four days on machines, and Roscoe died Sunday night in his arms.
  • Roscoe had relapsed with pneumonia, suffered a cardiac arrest during veterinary care, was resuscitated and placed in an induced coma.
  • Ferrari paid tribute by calling Roscoe “forever part of the paddock,” with fellow drivers including George Russell and Charles Leclerc offering condolences.
  • A familiar presence at races since 2013, Roscoe also drew a large online following with more than 1.3–1.4 million Instagram followers on the @roscoelovescoco account.
  • Hamilton previously lost his other bulldog, Coco, in 2020, and the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix weekend is expected to be an emotionally difficult return.
