Overview
- The animal attacked residents in quick succession across Chandiyal, Bhadyal and Malwana around 7 a.m. in Mandi’s Balh valley.
- Forest officials identified the deceased as Balbir (also reported as Balveer) Singh, who was visiting relatives in Malwana.
- The injured—Sahib Singh, Deena Nath, Rekha Devi, Janit and Champa Devi—were admitted to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk, where their condition was described as stable.
- A wildlife rescue team found the leopard already wounded; it was taken to the Sundernagar veterinary hospital and later died, and its carcass has been sent for examination.
