Overview
- A Herefordshire Council waste-collection lorry struck a building at the Mill Street and Bridge Street junction shortly after 6:40am on November 11.
- A male passenger in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and another passenger were airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
- The property was empty at the time but sustained significant structural damage, and the lorry has since been removed.
- A large multi-agency response attended, including police, multiple fire crews, West Midlands Ambulance Service with HART and MERIT assets, BASICS doctors and the Midlands Air Ambulance.
- Authorities say cordons and road closures remain as the building is made safe and inquiries continue into reports the lorry left the road at the nearby mini roundabout.
