• In its DRHP filed July 27, Lenskart stated that co-founder and Global Head of Sourcing Sumeet Kapahi cannot locate his B. Com (Hons) degree and marksheets from the University of Delhi and remains without a response to his retrieval requests.
• The company acknowledged reliance on certificates furnished by Kapahi and its book running lead managers to confirm his educational credentials, noting there is no assurance the original documents will ever be recovered.
• Kapahi has sent multiple emails, a formal letter and submitted an online application through the university portal but has received no response so far.
• Lenskart reported its first annual profit of ₹297.3 crore in FY25 and its proposed ₹8,500 crore IPO values the omnichannel eyewear retailer at over ₹50,000 crore.
• Kapahi’s disclosed compensation for FY25 was ₹2.24 crore and he intends to sell more than 2.8 million equity shares in the IPO’s offer for sale.
