Overview

• A 58-year-old attendee, Shawn Patrick Hood of Lenoir, was killed at the scene and 11 other partygoers, aged 16 to 58, were hospitalized with injuries.
• Garon Nathaniel Killian, 20, of Lenoir, has been charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Newton Detention Facility.
• Authorities said at least 80 rounds were fired around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, prompting deputies and Hickory police to return after an earlier noise complaint at 11 p.m. Saturday.
