• In her handover address, Batres said the “ominous” Judiciary has ended and urged a new phase centered on access to justice, austerity and integrity.
• She reported casting 2,734 votes from January 2024 to August 2025, including 2,397 in favor and 337 against in the Second Chamber and the Plenary.
• Of 812 matters assigned to her for drafting, she said she resolved 644 and left 34 pending in the Second Chamber and 33 in the Plenary, with draft rulings delivered to successors.
• Minister Javier Laynez contested her accounting, asserting she left 36 cases for decision by the incoming Plenary.
• Incoming ministers attended, including Hugo Aguilar, who will preside from September 1 as the reform abolishing chambers routes all pending cases to the full Court.
