Overview

• Delivering her final report before the Court’s restructuring, Batres—who will remain one of three continuing ministers—declared: “esta semana, enterramos a este ominoso Poder Judicial.”
• Starting September 1, all Supreme Court matters will be decided by the Pleno after the salas are eliminated, with Hugo Aguilar set to preside.
• Batres reported 2,734 votes since January 2024 and 644 of 812 assigned projects resolved, while leaving 34 Segunda Sala and 33 Pleno cases pending.
• She said draft rulings for those pending matters have been delivered to the incoming ministers for votes in the first days of September.
• Batres pledged to push a Plan Nacional de Justicia to coordinate the FGR, Congress, state prosecutors, the CNDH and local judiciaries.
