Overview

• In Leinefelde, about 90% of permanent works in the Augarten are complete, but heavy summer rain forced rework, including a fully renewed main drainage and repairs to compacted ground and wavy paths.
• Project leaders now expect the roughly €39 million construction budget to be exceeded, and missed fall seeding windows mean roll turf will cover some areas.
• Of 650 planned trees, 186 are planted and about 300 more are due within three weeks, and the Kirrode church garden will open partly unfinished after archaeological discoveries, with interactive elements planned.
• Ticket pre-sales for the April 23 to October 11, 2026 exhibition have begun at Leinefelde's town hall, and the online shop opens on October 13 with discounted tickets currently available only in person.
• In Pirmasens, a 2032 “Landesgartenschau der Zukunft” will not take place and any future event remains unclear, despite Mayor Markus Zwick citing a state press release as grounds for optimism as state politics face volatility ahead of next year's election.
