- Leicestershire Police say a man in his 20s remains in a critical but stable condition a week after a Horsefair Street attack just before 5am on November 30.
- Two further suspects, aged 18 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in the Leicester case, while a 20-year-old previously arrested remains on bail.

- In West Derby, officers found a 33-year-old man with severe head injuries outside the Hare and Hounds around 12.45am on Sunday, and he is in a critical condition at Aintree Hospital.
- Merseyside Police arrested a 39-year-old at the scene and a 24-year-old who presented at hospital, both on suspicion of Section 18 assault, as forensics, house-to-house inquiries, and CCTV checks continue; police thanked bystanders who performed CPR.
