Legoland Names 'Galacticoaster' Indoor Coasters for California and Florida, Targets Early 2026 Opening

Merlin is investing about $90 million to create twin space-themed lands built around its most advanced family coaster.

Overview

  • Parks released first-look footage and photos of track installation, confirming construction has been underway for more than a year with a crew of more than 500 builders.
  • Each attraction fits nearly 1,500 feet of track inside roughly 30,000-square-foot show buildings, using 48 track sections supported by 120 columns.
  • In Florida, the ride will be the main park’s first indoor coaster since the resort opened in 2011, launching from Spaceport 885 with an Orbital Outpost shop and a Duplo Tot Spot play area.
  • In California, the project marks the resort’s first new coaster in over two decades, anchored by Spaceport 886 with a Junior Astronaut Training Zone and the Galactic Grub and Gear venue.
  • Both resorts cite an early 2026 opening window with no specific dates; a reported ART Engineering role comes via industry reporting and is not officially confirmed.
