Lego-Oma Rita Ebel Heads to Hong Kong for Unofficial World-Record Ramp Build

Overview

  • Rita Ebel has constructed more than 100 volunteer-made Lego ramps across Europe to help wheelchair and rollator users overcome architectural barriers.
  • From July 11 to 12 she will showcase her modular design at an inclusion congress hosted by Wheel for Oneness at Hong Kong Baptist University.
  • A team of students and volunteers will assemble a 30-meter-wide, 10-centimeter-high Lego ramp in an unofficial world-record attempt.
  • She will travel with her granddaughter and present a Diashow and live demonstration on grassroots accessibility innovation.
  • Once the record attempt ends, the ramp bricks will be dismantled then donated as the basis for custom access aids in local businesses.
