Lego Display Collapse at Massachusetts Arcade Injures 10 During New Year's Eve Event

A 12-foot Lego structure fell during a balloon drop at a family-friendly celebration, causing minor injuries to children and adults.

The incident occurred at the In the Game arcade in Peabody, Massachusetts, during a sold-out 'Noon Year's Eve' celebration aimed at families.
A balloon net attached to a 12-foot Lego display failed to release properly, leading staff or attendees to pull on it, which caused the display to topple 12 feet onto the crowd below.
Ten people, including six children and four adults, sustained minor injuries such as cuts and bruises; eight were transported to local hospitals while two declined medical attention.
Witnesses described the aftermath as chaotic, with children crying, injured attendees receiving ice packs, and some guests taking Lego pieces as souvenirs.
The arcade briefly closed after the incident but reopened shortly after authorities confirmed there was no structural damage to the facility.
