Lee Jae-myung’s Approval Climbs to 59.3% as Democratic Party Support Dips

Overview

  • A Realmeter survey of 2,514 adults conducted June 16–20 found 59.3% rated Lee’s performance positively, up 0.7 percentage point from the previous week with a margin of error of ±2% at 95% confidence.
  • Support climbed early in the week following Lee’s participation in the G7 summit and the Kospi index topping 3,000 points.
  • Approval waned later after questions surfaced over Prime Minister nominee Kim Min-seok’s suitability.
  • In a separate Realmeter poll of 1,008 respondents June 19–20, backing for the ruling Democratic Party fell 1.5 points to 48.4% with a ±3.1% margin of error.
  • The main opposition People Power Party’s approval inched up to 31.4%, while 33.5% of respondents disapproved of Lee’s performance and 7.2% were undecided.
