Overview

  • President Lee named former ministers Yoon Yeo-joon and Kang Gum-sil, Rep. Choo Mi-ae and ex-Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum as special envoys to the EU, France, the UK and India.
  • The four delegations will depart starting Monday to communicate Seoul’s agenda across their respective regions.
  • Yoon’s EU mission will focus on expanding strategic partnership ties at the bloc’s headquarters in Belgium.
  • Kang’s delegation in France will advance cooperation on artificial intelligence, space technology and the defense sector.
  • The presidential office is consulting with 14 countries to finalize envoy appointments for the United States, Japan, China, Australia and Poland.
