LeBron James Debuts 23rd-Season Jersey Patch in Sacramento

After each game, the patch is removed for CGC authentication before placement in select Topps trading cards.

Overview

  • James will wear the commemorative patch for the remainder of the regular season, debuting it against the Kings in the city where he first played in 2003.
  • The design includes “23 NBA Seasons,” a silhouette of his pregame chalk toss, and stripes representing the Cavaliers, Heat, and Lakers.
  • Following each game, the Lakers’ equipment manager will remove and date the patch before it is shipped to Topps’ Dallas facility for authentication.
  • With 46 regular-season games remaining, 46 game-dated patches are expected to be inserted into ultra-rare Topps cards.
  • The initiative expands Topps’ relaunched NBA program that previously featured rookie ‘Debut Patch’ and award-based gold logoman inserts, and James publicly praised the concept on social media.
