Overview

  • Leaked Weibo posts indicate the iPhone 17 Air will run on an A19 Pro chip with one GPU core disabled, delivering five-core graphics instead of the Pro models’ six-core unit.
  • To hit a reported thickness of around 5.5–5.7 mm, the Air variant is said to use a sub-3,000 mAh battery, marking a significant reduction from previous generation cells.
  • In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are reported to retain the full-spec A19 Pro chipset, add 12 GB of RAM and feature triple 48 MP rear cameras with upgraded telephoto lenses.
  • Apple’s fall launch event is speculated to occur around September 9, with staggered pre-orders and shipments expected later in the month, though no official date has been announced.
  • Leakers also foresee the Apple Watch Series 11 debuting alongside the phones with an S11 chip, optional 5G modem and new health-focused functions such as blood pressure monitoring and a sleep score in watchOS 26.
