Overview
- A December 2015 exchange in Ehud Barak’s leaked inbox shows Jeffrey Epstein citing “Andrew” as the source for a China personal-protection business lead, with Epstein confirming “The Prince?” as “yes.”
- The correspondence undercuts Prince Andrew’s 2019 Newsnight claim that he had no contact with Epstein after December 2010.
- The emails were posted via Distributed Denial of Secrets after a hack of Barak’s account, and The Sunday Times says it verified contact details and handwriting but cannot definitively exclude alterations.
- Earlier disclosures include a February 2011 message, attributed to a royal understood to be Andrew, telling Epstein to “keep in close touch” and to “play some more soon!!!!”
- There is no evidence the China security venture ever materialised, and Buckingham Palace as well as representatives for Andrew and Barak have not provided substantive comment.
