Leading Chinese snooker players banned for life after match-fixing investigation

Liang Wenbo and Li Hang were given lifetime bans from snooker for match-fixing and betting offenses.
Ten players from China in total were sanctioned for manipulating match results, approaching other players to fix matches, and illegal betting.
The charges and sanctions were brought by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association following an investigation that began in August 2022.
The Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association acknowledged that match results had been manipulated and said it maintained a zero-tolerance policy for such offenses.
The International Betting Integrity Association alerted officials to suspicious betting activity regarding the matches in question, prompting the investigation.
