Overview
- The club confirmed on Friday that it had extended coach Patrick Videira's contract after he led Le Mans back to Ligue 1.
- Le Mans did not give the length of the deal in its statement but an unnamed source told AFP the contract runs until 2029.
- Videira, 49, joined from Corsican fourth-division side AS Furiani-Agliani in 2024 and compiled a reported record of 43 wins, 21 draws and 14 losses in 78 matches while guiding two successive promotions.
- Le Mans is now owned by investment fund OutField with minority shareholders including Thibaut Courtois, Novak Djokovic and Felipe Massa, a new financial setup the club says underpins its long-term project.
- The extension removes much of the reported outside interest in Videira from clubs such as Lorient and Lens and aims to give the team, staff and supporters continuity as Le Mans prepares for the sporting and financial demands of top-flight football.
