• Some participants were observed smoking cannabis, drinking alcohol and setting off fireworks before staff ordered an early closure.
• Multiple agencies, including Glen Ellyn and neighboring police departments, assisted in evacuating and securing the facility.
• One arrest has been made for illegal fireworks and investigators are reviewing video evidence of ordinance violations and altercations.
• Police departments are increasing patrols at pools and beaches while park districts develop new security protocols to manage spontaneous teen gatherings.
