Lauren Sánchez, fiancée of Jeff Bezos, is facing a lawsuit from her former yoga instructor Alanna Zabel over alleged intellectual property theft.
Zabel alleges that Sánchez's book, 'The Fly Who Flew to Space,' shares over 60% of its content with her own book, 'Dharma Kitty Goes to Mars,' published in 2023.
The lawsuit claims Zabel discussed the book concept with Sánchez over a period of 16 years and even reached out to Bezos about donating proceeds to his charities.
Zabel is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, citing emotional distress and professional harm caused by the alleged plagiarism.
Sánchez has not publicly responded to the lawsuit, but has previously stated that her book was inspired by her personal experiences with dyslexia and flying.
