Lauren Curry Appointed as Georgia's First Female Chief of Staff
Curry to replace outgoing Trey Kilpatrick, who is set to join Georgia Power Co. as senior vice president of external affairs.
- Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has appointed Lauren Curry as the first female chief of staff, replacing Trey Kilpatrick who is leaving to work for Georgia Power Co.
- Curry, currently deputy chief of staff, will assume the role on January 15.
- Curry has a long history in Georgia state government, having worked for the Environmental Protection Division, the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Economic Development, and as a press assistant to then-Gov. Sonny Perdue.
- Kilpatrick, who has been Kemp's chief of staff for three years, will serve as senior vice president of external affairs at Georgia Power, the largest unit of Atlanta-based Southern Co.
- Brad Bohannon, currently Kemp's director of government affairs and policy, will become deputy chief of staff.
