• The album, Laura Veirs And The Choir Who Couldn’t Say (Live In Angoulême), captures Veirs’s May 24 performance in Angoulême with a 32-member French school choir produced alongside director Patrice Cleyrat.
• It features 14 of Veirs’s songs plus one track from her case/lang/veirs collaboration, performed solely by Veirs on acoustic guitar, Cleyrat on keyboard and the youth choir.
• The choir’s 32 students, aged 12 to 18, rehearsed under Cleyrat’s direction for nine months before joining Veirs on stage.
• Veirs shared a live video of “I Can See Your Tracks” as a preview and said performing with the choir was a career highlight.
• This release marks Veirs’s second live album in two years and follows her 2023 studio record Phone Orphans, continuing her documentary-style live projects.
