Laura Loomer Granted Pentagon Press Credentials After Media Policy Overhaul

Her access follows a new Pentagon rule restricting unsanctioned sourcing that prompted many major outlets to surrender badges.

Overview

  • Loomer confirmed late Monday on X that she has joined the Pentagon press corps after The Washington Post first reported her credentialing.
  • She enters a reconstituted corps that includes Gateway Pundit, One America News, Just the News, Tim Pool and other right‑wing outlets, independents and influencers.
  • The Defense Department’s policy bars reporters from soliciting information not officially provided, leading organizations including the Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, Fox News and AP to turn in their badges.
  • Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell has touted more than 60 signees to the policy, including 26 journalists from 18 previously credentialed outlets, as part of a “next generation” press corps.
  • Loomer, a close ally of President Trump, has repeatedly met with him and has publicly claimed credit for personnel ousters such as NSA Director Timothy Haugh and national security adviser Michael Waltz, though her influence has been disputed.
