- Laura’s months of bloating and fatigue were first mistaken for perimenopause before an emergency A&E admission in March 2024 led to a stage three bowel cancer diagnosis
- Emergency surgery removed a bowel obstruction and a biopsy confirmed her cancer, triggering six months of chemotherapy and an initial remission in August 2024
- When scans revealed a relapse in September, Laura pursued further treatments but stopped chemotherapy in May to focus on living fully with her loved ones
- St Christopher’s Hospice provided two weeks of home-based support followed by in-hospice care, where she died peacefully on June 29 with her husband by her side
