Late-Night Closures Set for Key English Motorways This Weekend

National Highways schedules overnight closures on multiple major routes for upgrades designed to reduce future disruption

Overview

  • Drainage work on the M3 will close its northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 5 from 9pm Friday to 6am Saturday.
  • Overnight on Friday and Sunday, the M25 will shut its clockwise carriageway between Junctions 23 and 27 and multiple slip roads, and the A282 northbound East Tunnel at Dartford Crossing will close from 11pm to 5.30am.
  • The A12 northbound between Junctions 21 and 22 will close from 9pm Friday to 5am Saturday, and the M27 eastbound link road at Junction 12 will be shut from 9pm Sunday to 5am Monday.
  • Sussex drivers will face an 11pm to 6am closure of the M23 southbound between Junctions 7 and 8 and two-way carriageway shutdowns on the A23 near Pease Pottage on Friday night.
  • Drivers are advised to plan detours using diversion routes detailed on the National Highways website to avoid delays.
