LATAM Takes Delivery of First Embraer E195‑E2

Aimed at expanding domestic connectivity to smaller Brazilian cities, the jet helps LATAM target more than 70 airports by 2027.

Overview

  • LATAM confirmed on Thursday that it has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195‑E2, the first of 12 jets expected by the end of 2026.
  • The aircraft still needs customs clearance, cabin interior approval and certification from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency before it can carry fare‑paying passengers.
  • LATAM schedules the type to enter commercial service between November 2026 and March 2027 and plans an initial deployment of 14 jets across 42 routes.
  • The airline will add eight new routes in the first phase, including four destinations it does not currently serve: Cabo Frio, Macaé, Ji‑Paraná and Rondonópolis.
  • The E195‑E2 cabins will seat 136 in a two‑by‑two layout with up to 20 Premium Economy seats, USB‑C at every seat and free Wi‑Fi for registered LATAM Pass members while Embraer says the type cuts fuel burn and emissions versus earlier E‑Jets.
