Last Veteran of D-Day's Kieffer Commando Dies at 100

Leon Gautier, the last survivor of the Kieffer Commando, passed away at the age of 100
Gautier was part of the French troops that participated in the Allied invasion of Normandy on D-Day in 1944.
Out of 177 commandos, only 24 survived without injury; Gautier fought for 78 consecutive days.
French President Emmanuel Macron honored Gautier and his comrades as "heroes of the Liberation."
Gautier emphasized the importance of preserving peace to avoid falling into war again.
