Overview

• Police say 23-year-old Mark Gaughan was shot just before 5 a.m. on Aug. 23 while photographing 20-year-old Allysandra Blea posing with a gun on Nassau Drive.
• The Clark County District Attorney’s Office charged Blea with open murder with a deadly weapon on Aug. 26, and she was booked into the county detention center.
• Investigators recovered Polaroids from the scene showing Blea holding a firearm, including images with her finger on the trigger, and another photo of a woman holding a knife.
• An arrest report cites social-media messages reflecting a fascination with firearms, including a post stating, “I wish I could shoot people with real guns and get away with it,” and references to shooting sex workers and homeless people.
• Blea told detectives the shooting was accidental and that she believed the gun was unloaded; the coroner ruled the death a homicide, a judge denied bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 2.
