Las Vegas' Mirage Hotel to Close After 34 Years, Transforming into Hard Rock Resort

The iconic Mirage, known for its volcano and megaresort status, will make way for a guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel set to open in 2027.

The Mirage will cease operations on July 17, 2024, after opening in 1989.
Hard Rock International, which acquired the property in 2022, plans a major renovation.
The new Hard Rock Las Vegas will feature a 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower.
Over 3,000 employees will be laid off, with $80 million allocated for severance.
The transformation will create over 6,000 jobs and 2,500 construction positions.
