Las Vegas Home Raided in Suspected Biolab Case Linked to 2023 Reedley Investigation

Tests on more than 1,000 seized samples are underway at a federal bioforensics lab.

Overview

  • LVMPD and the FBI conducted a controlled, multi-day search from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, finding refrigerators, a freezer, lab-type equipment and numerous containers with unknown liquids inside a locked garage.
  • Officials say the property is owned by the same individual jailed in the 2023 Reedley, California case, and items recovered in Las Vegas were consistent in appearance with that earlier investigation.
  • Authorities report the residence has been remediated with no identified threat to the public, three room renters were safely removed, and a second Las Vegas property was checked with no suspicious materials found.
  • Property manager Ori Solomon, 55, was arrested on a state hazardous-waste charge and separately charged federally as a prohibited person in possession of firearms, with court proceedings pending.
  • A tip from a former house cleaner triggered the probe; she and others reported becoming 'deathly ill' after entering the garage, hydrochloric acid was among materials recovered, and laboratory results are pending at the National Bioforensic Analysis Center.
