Overview
- A nature fire that began Monday in the Boschhuizerbergen/De Rosmolen area near Oostrum grew from about 21 hectares to roughly 100 hectares by Tuesday as flames climbed tree tops in resinous pine forest.
- Fire crews from across provinces and two Defence Chinook helicopters were deployed to battle crown fire, with more than one million litres of water dropped by air over the first days.
- By early Wednesday the blaze remained not fully extinguished but was largely held within stoplijnen such as the Maasheseweg and the railway, giving crews better control of the perimeter.
