Overview

• Strathcona Emergency Services responded around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to a blaze at GenAlta Recycling at 9301 34 St.
• Edmonton Fire Rescue dispatched two crews after a request for assistance shortly after 10 a.m.
• Edmonton Police closed 34 Street between the Sherwood Park Freeway and Baseline Road to traffic.
• No injuries were reported, and crews planned to remain on scene through the day and possibly into the evening.
• Alberta Environment was notified, and the mayor said the fire was contained as on-scene operations continued.
